Callie Garnett
I grew up in the Highlands of Scotland and have always been inspired by its raw beauty. On cold days, sheep with deep coats nibbled from the frugal hillside, and in summer, trout swam beneath water as smooth as glass.
I went on to study at Wimbledon School of Art, gaining a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design and designed costumes and scenery for productions in London and Exeter. I have also created children’s picture books.
I now draw portraits of pets (and other animals) and people, and work mainly in coloured pencil. I like to find elements in the subject, which might make an interesting drawing, or tell a story.
