A country girl born in Devon, with a love of the sea and the rural life. I have had a long career spanning over thirty years painting in all mediums, there are over 250 pieces of my work in Southern England, Spain and Canada, both 'off the wall' and commissioned. I am also experienced in teaching adults in classes and on a private one-to-one basis, having taught in studios in Spain and Berkshire.

My technique tends to be fairly loose, usually interpretive rather than representational, and paintings are executed in a variety of formats as I am always seeking new ways to look at, and capture the essence of my subject. In Art you never stop learning. Among the many great artists I admire are Turner, van Gogh, Mark Rothko and Edward Hopper.

The Foliage and Flora pieces capture the harmony of tones and structures to be found in nature. I also produce Sea and Landscapes that attempt to capture the tranquillity and atmosphere of the coast and countryside with the multiple hues and ever changing light.

Although I paint mainly in acrylics at the present time, I also work in watercolour, pastels and oil. The paints I use are of professional quality and the finished canvases are to gallery standard. All my canvases can be hung unframed, or framed at the discretion of the purchaser.
